New Film Work
Still exploring medium format film photography. I shot a few more rolls in the past couple of weeks. These were my favorites.
The first photo was taken at Trail #1 in San Onofre using Fuji Neopan Acros 100. A recently married friend of mine agreed to do a “Trash the Dress” session and this was taken as we were walking down the trail to the beach. Those familiar with this trail know that it gets much steeper as you go – a lot of fun on the way down, not so fun on the way back up when your hauling a bunch of heavy camera equipment. I had to stop a number of times to take in the view (i.e., rest to avoid having a coronary) on our trek back – my very fit friend had mercy on me and took her time walking up. But it still made me feel like a little girl, and not in a good way.
The second photo – of Brisa de San Clemente Motel – was taken from an access road behind the motel that abuts Interstate 5. Always wanted to take a photo of this sign. I’m a sucker for signage. Shot this using Fuji Astia 100F.
The third shot is of my little boy taken with Fuji Neopan Acros. He fell asleep on the couch in the afternoon cradling his little friend in his right arm.
The last shot was taken using Ilford PanF Plus 50 at the Motel No Tell in San Clemente. Very cool little place to check out, if you’re in town and have the time. Lots of interesting artwork on the walls.

Film Experimentation
Recently purchased a fully manual medium format camera. No electronics at all. It’s basically a throwback to the machine age. It’s at least 20 years old, and, frankly, I didn’t expect the damn thing to work. I’ve shot two test rolls with it – a few examples provided below. No Photoshop alterations. Nothing award winning, certainly, but at least I managed to expose correctly. I’ll keep you posted on my film journey. I love digital, but there is something very intriguing about film. I may be a convert.
